About Me

Hello!

I'm Guy Schndrig, a data scientist at the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO), where I work in the Data Competence Center (DCC). My work focuses on analysing the use of antibiotics in animals and providing specialized analytical solutions to the FSVO.

Previously, I worked as a researcher at the Veterinary Public Health Institute and as a scientific associate in the specialist unit for veterinary medicines under the supervision of Dagmar Heim. I completed a CAS in Data Science at the Mathematical Instutie of the University of Bern, gaining expertise in machine learning and data-driven decision-making. For my masters, I studied biology ith a focus on genetics and biostatistics at the Institute of Ecology and Evolution, University of Bern. During my studies, I had the opportunity to work with Laurent Excoffier, Stephan Peischl, and Gerald Heckel, researching the population genetics of Tula hantavirus in Microtus arvalis.

I earned my Ph.D. Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bern, under the supervision of Gertraud Regula-Schüpbach, further deepening my expertise in epidemiology and public health.
